Hi, I'm Ben.
I'm a Product Designer + Developer working out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Over the years I've been involved in many different areas of digital design and development, including front-end development, web UI/UX, email, and even research towards engineering projects at times. I'm proud to have worn many hats.
Currently
Right now, I'm helping shape user experiences at CatalystOS and contributing to software research at MTRI. My work focuses on translating complex systems into clear, intuitive interfaces that make powerful tools feel approachable.
Me
I started my career working for small businesses in my area that I knew personally. Working at a non profit for under-privileged families ignited my passion for creating user-centric technologies that truly help. This experience allowed me to take pleasure in learning, and reinforcing things like simple HTML and CSS through projects like email development and building their online presence. To this day my favorite form of creating is playing with styles and structures on webpages.
Being caught in the rat race, I left a lot of my creative-centered technical passions in the past. And this is the beginning of bringing them back to the surface. I genuinely love the intersection of design and technology, and become enthralled with figuring out the best ontological approach to a process while being visually engaging as well.
Outside of work, I spend much of my time staying active or being outdoors. When it's too cold to do this, as it often is in Michigan, I love to read and write, explore the world around me, and enjoy coffee in the mornings.
